Echo Show 15 | All the features | Full Description

Amazon is also expanding its Echo Show smart display system, and in this case, it is getting bigger and bigger. The new $ 249.99 Echo Show 15 is the smartest display the company has ever released, with a 15-inch display, 1080 P HD. It is also designed differently from previous company models - instead of being a touch screen mounted on a powerful speaker, the Echo Show 15 is flat and can be hung on the wall.

Amazon’s voice for this smart display has become a place for families to see things like upcoming calendar appointments, to-dos, sticky note reminders, and shopping lists. It is thought to be located in a shared space - a living room, a common hallway, and, also a kitchen. It can do everything before Echo Show smart displays, such as playing music, showing weather reports, streaming video, managing smart home gadgets, and all the other things you can ask for from Alexa.

But Show 15 features a larger screen to show the most useful widgets, permanently placed next to a standard carousel for news headlines, third-party skills ads, and more. Those widgets can be customized according to your preferences, whether you want to show a calendar, to-do list, cooking recommendations, favorite home controls, or whatever. Amazon created developer API as an open source AI project that anyone can use.

Unfortunately, it will not be possible to use the entire display with your selected items if you want to create a smart home dashboard, for example. Part of the screen is always dedicated to rotating home content seen in other Echo Show displays - the other part is where the widgets reside.

The larger screen starts with a new image-to-picture feature, which allows you to view the security camera feed or video door cap while viewing other content. It is the first Echo Show to support full HD streaming from Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, and others. Amazon has also announced that support for TikTok and Sling TV is coming to its entire line of smart shows.

The design of Show 15 is designed to mimic a photo frame, and you can use it for a full-fledged photo viewer if you want (Amazon says it adapts its color to nearby lighting conditions like other recent Echo Show devices). There is a great resemblance to Samsung's Frame TV, another screen designed to look like a picture frame, at a very small level. At the launch, Show 15 has a black and white frame around the show - the company was not committed to releasing more styles the next time I asked.
